Terms of Use

Short version: the core of Tilepane is free, there are no ads, and what you draw in it is yours.

Your licence to use the app

WANG WENJIE grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Tilepane on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. The app itself — its code, its text, and its motif packs, paper textures and mockup scenes — stays ours. Please don’t copy it, resell it, take it apart or work backwards from it.

What you can do with your exports

  • What you draw is yours — print and sell it
  • Use pack motifs only inside your own designs
  • Don’t resell pack motifs on their own

We claim no rights over what you make, we never see it and we keep no copy of it. Because there is no server copy, losing this iPad or deleting the app means losing what was on it, unless you had turned on iCloud backup or exported it yourself.

Free, and what Pro adds

The core of Tilepane is free, and there are never any ads. The free plan includes:

  • The full wrap-around drawing engine
  • 3 tiles and 3 layers per tile
  • Full-drop and half-drop previews, 5x5
  • Seam check
  • 1 palette and 1 colorway preview
  • 1500 px PNG and phone wallpaper export, no watermark
  • 1 starter motif pack, this week's free pick, and 1 mockup scene

Pro adds more room to make things: unlimited tiles and layers, canvases up to 6000 × 6000 px, 300 dpi print export in PNG, TIFF and PDF with a spec sheet, brick, mirror, diamond and ogee repeats, unlimited colorways and colorway families, every motif pack, paper textures, mockup scenes, the lookbook PDF and the Year in Patterns poster, encrypted iCloud backup and version history.

Nothing you have already made is ever locked away behind a payment. If Pro ends, you can still open, edit, delete and export every tile at the free sizes, restore an existing backup and open existing versions; only making new Pro things stops.

The three plans

  • Monthly (com.topxup.tilepane.pro.monthly) — an auto-renewing subscription, charged every month. US$5.99 in the United States.
  • Yearly (com.topxup.tilepane.pro.yearly) — an auto-renewing subscription, charged every year. US$24.99 in the United States. Eligible new subscribers start with a 7-day free trial; the first charge comes when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • Lifetime (com.topxup.tilepane.pro.lifetime) — a one-time purchase. US$59.99 in the United States. This is not a subscription. It never renews and is never charged again.

Prices differ by country. The App Store shows you the exact price in your own currency before you confirm anything. All three plans support Family Sharing.

How the subscriptions renew

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically for another period of the same length unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges your Apple Account for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends, at the price of the plan you are on.

Subscriptions are managed — and cancelled — in your Apple Account settings: open the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions, or tap your Pro plan in Tilepane’s Settings. Only Apple can cancel a subscription; we have no way to do it for you. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and Pro stays on until that day.

If the price of a subscription changes, Apple tells you beforehand and, where required, asks for your agreement. If you buy a subscription while a free trial is still running, the unused part of the trial ends.

Lifetime

The lifetime plan is a single purchase, not a subscription. It does not appear among your Apple subscriptions, it never renews and there is nothing to cancel. It unlocks Pro on every device signed in to the same Apple Account, for as long as Tilepane is available on the App Store.

Refunds

Every purchase goes through Apple, so every refund does too. We cannot issue refunds and never see your payment details. Ask Apple through the Report a Problem page for your Apple Account, or through Apple Support.

Restoring a purchase

Reinstalled the app, or moved to a new iPad? Sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Restore on the Pro screen or Restore purchases in Tilepane’s Settings. That restores what you bought — not what you made, which comes with you only if you had turned on iCloud backup or exported it.

Fair use

Don’t use Tilepane to break the law or to harm anyone, and don’t try to defeat the parts of it that make it work.

No warranty

Tilepane is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Check a test print before you order a large run. To the extent the law allows, WANG WENJIE is not liable for lost data, print costs or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits the rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Changes

These terms may change as the app changes. The current version always ships inside the app.

Who publishes Tilepane

Tilepane is written and published by WANG WENJIE, the party you are agreeing with here. Questions about these terms or about a purchase go to Fuuqiu at Fuuqiu@gmail.com, and one person reads them.
